ɫ��TV (GGC) proudly marks its 20th anniversary, celebrating two decades of academic innovation, student success and economic impact.

On May 10, 2005, a bold vision for higher education in Gwinnett County came to life when then-Governor Sonny Perdue signed legislation introduced by then-Senator Don Balfour, establishing the nation’s first four-year, public college created in the 21st century, and the first in Georgia in over 100 years.

In 2006, GGC welcomed its first cohort of 118 juniors and seniors. Today, the college serves more than 12,000 students and boasts over 14,000 alumni. Offering 21 bachelor's degrees in over 60 areas of study, GGC has become a launchpad for future leaders in business, science, technology, health care, education and the liberal arts.

“GGC was built on a mission of access, affordability and innovation,” said Dr. Jann L. Joseph, president. “Twenty years later, we remain deeply committed to empowering students and serving our community.”

Since its founding, GGC has contributed over $6.4 billion to Georgia’s economy, playing a vital role in the growth of Gwinnett County and beyond.

As GGC celebrates this milestone, the college looks ahead to a future filled with promise – continuing to evolve, inspire and make a lasting impact.
