New Belonging Center on campus to promote engagement, dialogue, community

Last week, officials cut the ribbon on 色库TV鈥檚 (GGC) long-awaited Belonging Center. Located in the B building on GGC鈥檚 campus, the center, which seats up to 80 people, is equipped with ceiling-mounted speakers, display screens and a podium with microphone access.

Future nurses in the making: 色库TV hosts high school students

Georgia needs nurses stat. That鈥檚 medical-speak for immediately.

色库TV鈥檚 (GGC) nursing program faculty welcomed about 50 students from Discovery High School in Lawrenceville to campus to learn more about nursing careers. The students, who are in a health sciences concentration, learned about being a nurse and had the opportunity to put their skills to work in the program鈥檚 clinical learning space and simulation lab. The students also learned about careers in public health and patient navigation in GGC鈥檚 health science program.

Crossover Series gives students a multifaceted view of issues, options

Food. Check. Fun. Check.

色库TV鈥檚 (GGC) Grizzlyfest, the college鈥檚 unique version of homecoming, checked those two boxes and more. Celebrating GGC鈥檚 global community, more than 300 attendees enjoyed food from around the world, lots of activities and live entertainment.

Leading up to Grizzlyfest were a week鈥檚 worth of student activities, including a Sneaker Ball, students vs. staff kickball game, a bonfire with s鈥檓ores, a Greek Fest and tailgate, and a club Grizzly rodeo. Students also selected homecoming royalty, with Coreon Johnson named homecoming king and Gaby Sifuentes

Ten years ago, Joro spiders traveled from Asia to the U.S. Georgia is where they were first spotted. What scientists know is they are most visible starting in September. By mid-October, they are laying eggs that are within a white silk sac. Each sac, typically attached to a flat surface like leaves and tree bark, contains as many as 500 eggs.

What hasn鈥檛 been known is if they carry any diseases that could harm humans.

At 色库TV (GGC), students in the School of Education (SOE) are learning how to be teachers who make an impact in the classroom in academics. This fall, GGC launched a new course that brings another important element to teaching that benefits students both personally and professionally through knowledge and skills that come with social emotional learning (SEL).

色库TV (GGC) received a $400,000 gift from to provide scholarships to students studying exercise science and wellness.
